DHQ: Troops kill 35 terrorists, rescue 220 civilians in 2-Week operation

In the past two weeks, troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria killed 35 terrorists and rescued 220 civilians from captivity in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central parts of the country. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, revealed the details during a biweekly update. The troops arrested 46 terrorists’ logistics suppliers, seized 36 AK47 rifles, and recovered N4,244,490 in cash from terrorists. Within the period, 1,505 Boko Haram terrorists surrendered to the troops.

In the North-East, the Operation Hadin Kai troops killed 13 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, rescued 119 abducted civilians, and arrested six logistics suppliers. Also, 1,506 terrorists and members of their families surrendered to the troops, who recovered weapons, ammunition, and other items. The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI conducted several air interdiction operations, leading to the destruction of two terrorist logistics depots.

In the North-West, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji neutralized 14 terrorists, arrested 12 terrorists’ logistics suppliers, and rescued 16 abducted civilians. The troops recovered weapons, ammunition, and other items from the terrorists.

In the North-Central, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke and Safe Haven neutralized eight bandits/terrorists, arrested 28 others, and rescued five civilians from kidnappers. The troops recovered weapons, ammunition, and other items, as well as N2,000,000 in cash meant for ransom.

All recovered items, arrested suspects, and rescued civilians have been handed over to relevant authorities for further action.
