A 17-Year-Boy Thursday morning raped and killed a middle aged woman, Mrs Maria Akor Ojoh, who was fetching firewood in the bush.
The man identified as Francis Godday Emenike Agada committed the crime in Okpudu, Itabono in Owukpa Community, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
A former Councilor who pleaded anonymity narrated that Agada abandoned the lifeless body of his victim in the bush and ran to inform his father at home about the atrocity he committed. His father took him to a nearby Police outpost to report himself.
On hearing the news, youths in the community went to the bush in search of the body of the Mrs Akor who was found in the pool of her blood with her legs and hands chained to the ground.
Angered with the way the innocent woman was macheted in the head, the community youths stormed the Police outpost demanding release of the perpetrator to them. They overpowered the policemen on duty and forced Agada out of the cell and leached him to death.
However, the police succeeded in stopping the angry youths from setting the body of Agada ablaze.
The police has since deposited the bodies in the nearest morgue.
All efforts to get the comment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the outpost proved abortive.
