The Labour Party staged a peaceful protest close to the Headquaters of INEC in Enugu demanding that the Independent National Electoral Commission should declare their governorship Candidate, Chijioke Edeoga the winner of the Governorship election held on 18th March, 2022.
The protesters, who came with placards with different inscriptions including ‘ No BIVAS, No election, Over voting is not allowed”, claimed that their Candidate won the election.
The spokesman of the protesters, Prince Emeka Mamah urged INEC to look into alleged irregularities at Nkanu East Local Government.
Mamah, a former commissioner under the PDP led administration, claimed that BIVAS was not used to conduct election at Nkanu East Local Government.
Mamah therefore urged INEC to look into their complaints and do the needful, insisting that despite all the alleged manipulations, their candiadate won the election.
As of the time of filling this report, the protesters vowed to continue with the protest untill INEC officials do the needful
