Seven vehicles belonging to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members have been burnt down by thugs suspected to have been sponsored by opposition party on Friday in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River, where the APC governorship candidate hails from.
According to an eyewitness “At about 11:45pm on Friday, seven PDP vehicles including four buses and three SUVs were burnt down by unidentified thugs. One woman was also shot in the belly at Ikot Effiong Otop. Some policemen were disarmed and weapons taken away.”
Reacting to the incident, PDP governorship candidate, Senator Sandy Onor described the incident as unfortunate and barbaric.
Onor urged the electorate not to be demoralised with the incident but to go out and vote the All Progressives Congress out from government.
The Cross River State Police PRO, SP Irene Ugbo, said the command was yet to receive any official complaint on the incident.
