The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), in Nasarawa State says an alliance with three other political parties to wrestle power from the incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Sule is in the offing.
Abdullahi Maidoya, NNPP gubernatorial candidate stated that this during a joint press conference with the leaders of the affected political parties in Lafia, the state capital on Tuesday.
The other affected parties in the alliance include Social Democratic Party (SDP), Action Alliance (AA) and the People Redemption Party (PRP).
Maidoya said the leaders of the four parties have agreed to join forces against Gov Sule to scuttle his reelection in the rescheduled Governorship and State House of Assembly Election slated for Saturday.
He said details of the alliance where one of the governorship candidates among the affected political parties would emerge as the consensus for the poll, would be made public soon.
He also dispel rumours that one or two candidates of the affected parties have stepped down for the incumbent governor, describing the information as false and unfounded.
He said,” We want to categorically state that non of us is even considering stepping down for the candidate of ruling All Progressive Congress. As I speak our campaign is still on to unseat incumbent governor.
” We want to informed the general public that we have also agreed and we are meeting to form a merger to present one of us as sole candidate to unseat governor Abdullahi Sule,” he said.
