PDP Guber candidate decries foul play by removal of security check points in Gombe

Must read

The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State Mohammed Barde has faulted the state government for directing the dismantling of security check points in parts of the state ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

Spokesperson of the governorship candidate Ayuba Aluke in a statement said the dismantling of the security check points was allegedly meant to disrupt the governorship election and change the will of the electorate.

“By that directive, the good people of Gombe State can clearly see that it is merely a ploy to clear the way and grant free movement for the governor’s political thugs to intimidate voters and unleash terror and violence before, during and after the elections without security intervention or resistance.

“This way, they can freely go to any polling unit during the election to rig, disrupt and scuttle the governorship election and undermine the will of the electorates which does not favour his failing re-election bid”. He alleged.

He therefore urged the state government to reinstate the security check points for the overall peace and security of Gombe residents before, during and after the forthcoming elections.
