A magistrate court in Yola has remanded two persons for alleged raping of pregnant woman.
The court presided over by Muhammed Abubakar, remanded Suleiman Adamu, 29 and Ahmadu Umaru 26, for criminal conspiracy, house tress pass and rape respectively.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the allegations, saying that it was a set up against them, after been arraigned by the prosecuting police officer, Inspector Zakka Musa over the matter.
The defendants both from Machimin community in Maiha were arrested by local hunters.
According to the prosecution, the defendants also made away with the sum of N300, 000, belonging to the 2 wives.
The court adjourned the matter to the 28th March, 2023 to enable the prosecution transmit case diary to DPP for legal advice.
