Benue: Ado LGA boss expresses joy over chieftaincy recognition to Ezza, Izzi, Effium

The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Mr. James Oche has expressed happiness over the promised alteration of the Benue State Chieftaincy Law to accommodate and give chieftaincy recognition to the people of Ezza, Izzi and Effium in Benue State.

Mr. Oche spoke to the media recently when the Benue State Governor commissioned the Parish House of Holy Cross Parish Ogbolokuta, Ulayi District of Ado Local Government. Mr. Oche said his long nurtured and pursued dream to achieve social integration of all ethnicities within his domain was paying off.

The Benue State Governor who built the Parish House and came to commission it had eulogized Mr. Oche for appointing Ezza people into the Executive Council of the Local Government and giving them due recognition. The governor further promised to, before the end of his tenure seek the accommodation of the Ezza, Izzi and Effium people in the Chieftaincy affairs of the state so as to have their independent traditional rulers giving recognition by the government of Benue State.

The people have also expressed happiness with the Governor’s decision to meet with his Ebonyi State counterpart, Mr. David Umahi to put an end to the incessant inter-border crisis which had taken a toll on the area. The Governor also supported towards the return of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs within the area and the building of a heath clinic within the church and promised to collaborate with relevant stakeholders including Sen. Abba Moro to have a military base established in the area to help resolve he crisis.

It could be revealed that, Mr. James Oche why advancing his social integration policy appointed Dr. Perpetual Okafor and Mr. Francis Nwite who both are of Ezza extraction as the Council Secretary and Supervisory Councilor now elected Councilor representing Igumale Ward 2 respectively. An unprecedented development that triggered celebration.

In recognition of his efforts, the Governor commended Mr. Oche for his commitment to purposeful leadership by engaging persons across board to work with him. Mr. Oche has appreciated the Governor for remembering the people by keeping to his word of building them a parish house and the numerous other supports, saying the Governor was first to do so.

Mr. Oche has also said the people of Ezza, Izzi and Effium within Ado Local Government will soon be hosted to a public hearing interaction in connection with the good intention of the Benue State Governor for them and has urged the people to look forward to it so as to make valuable contributions that will lead to a reliable process.
