Balami explains why Labour Party supporters are selling their cars, lands, others

Must read

Comrade Isaac Balami, a chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, and Deputy Campaign Manager 1 of the Obi-Datti Campaign Council, has said that while supporters of the Labour Party, popularly known as “Obidients” continue to sell their houses, cars and other property in order to support the aspiration of Mr Peter Obi, supporters of other political parties including the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have continued to struggle for what they could grab from their candidates.

The former Trade Union Congress spokesman, while establishing what he called a major difference between Labour Party and other political parties said supporters of the Labour Party are ordinary Nigerians fighting to rescue the country with their own funds and not waiting to grab what their candidates have.

Balami said, “I have carried out a survey by speaking to some of my friends in the APC and PDP. Do you know that most of them have not donated a kobo to support their candidates? While some of us are selling our cars and houses to push the Obi-Datti movement, these other people are waiting for what they could grab from their candidates. That is the difference between Labour Party and other parties.

“The Labour Party is the party of Nigerians. They are selling their products, their pure water to donate to Peter Obi because they believe in him. They want to run through him. They want to occupy the presidency through Obi and Datti. But the other people are saying it’s their turn, it’s their right and Atiku is saying Northerners should not vote for other candidates and he is saying he is a unifier. Tinubu is saying that it’s his time. But in the real sense, it’s the turn of Nigerians. So you cannot compare. They say we don’t have structure, but time will speak. That’s all I can say for now.”
