Lady crushed inside car in Abuja identified as NTA staff

Report has emerged that the lady who was in an accident involving a car and a train in the Kubwa axis of Abuja is a journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.

Announcing her death, NTA in a post on Twitter said the young lady who worked with the organization’s Channel 5 in Abuja was on her way to the office when the incident happened.

The TV station identified the lady as Selimota, Idowu Suleiman.

AFRIPOST gathered that the victim was crossing the rail track but got stuck in it and an attempt to run out before the oncoming train got to her failed.

She was confirmed dead by medical a expert at the scene of the incident.

The police has since confirmed her death, saying when it got the information it mobilized its men from the Byazin division to condone off the place.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh made the confirmation.

She said: “Upon receipt of the information Crime scene investigators attached to the Byazin Divisional Police Headquarters drifted swiftly to the scene, took charge of the situation, where the victim was confirmed dead by a medical practitioner on ground.

“Investigation has commenced by the Rail way division having jurisdiction over the track. Findings and safety tips already existing will be reiterated to ensure a non repeat of the incident shortly”.
