Insecurity: LP senatorial candidate, Ahize says those enforcing sit-at-home in Imo are Igbo enemies

Must read

Chief Charles Ahize, the Imo west senatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the February 2023 national assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Imo state,  has posited that those enforcing the sit-at-home orders in the southeast zone are enemies of the struggle for self determination.

The Imo party chieftain also frowned in strong terms the lastest criminal violent attacks in Urualla and obodoukwu local communities in Ideato local government area in Imo state.

Ahize who was speaking on Tuesday at his Ideato countryhome residence  in Imo state, against the backdrops of the recent nefarious attacks on the innocent citizens of the state.

He insisted that those issuing the order and those enforcing the ame for sit-at-home are not do carrying out the orders for good of the people of southeast region, opining that they are serving the interest of their paymasters who he described as the enemies of Ala-igbo whose aim is to profit from instability and insecurity in the southeast region.

While frowning the lastest attacks and activities of the elements in ideato imo communities, Ahize alarmed that mercenaries are contracted by enemies of igbo land to destabilize the southeast zone of igbo ethnic extraction, and endanger the politcal chances of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi in next year’s general elections in Nigeria.

According to the frontline LP national assembly hopeful, “the undisputed leader of the Indigeneous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has severally stated through his lawyers and other approved spokespersons of his orgainzation that he is not in support of any sit-at-home order, admonishing IPOB members of the public to go about their  private and corporate activities and businesses. It is not impossible that those sponsoring these attacks want to systemically disenfranchise the southeast, but we must not let them succeed in this game”, he added.

The LP standard-bearer continued: “Ndigbo are mostly traders and anyone who tries to stop the igbo man from opening his shop or selling his goods is the greatest saboteur of igbo emancipation. There cannot be social justice without economic freedom and there cannot be economic freedom while our communities are shutdown and businesses are made to shutter by agents of retrogression.

“We must not allow anyone deceive us. We want justice and wr want progress, but we cannot support criminality of any sorts,” Ahize advised.

Ahize further urged them to make use of their permanent voters cards (PVC) and elect right and credible candidates and also charged them not to succumb to the antics of never-to-do-well people posing as candidates describing them as stooges that lacked leadership visions, acumen, charisma, sterling qualities and needed capacity to effect the desired leadership which the people are yearning for.

His words: “i urge you to go get your PVC. Get your PVC and vote for the right candidates. They are trying to frighten you from voting, so that they ca continue installing their stooges in different offices, to underdevelope the southeast.  Do not allow them to succeed. Go out there and collect your voters cards and make sure you vote right”.

He also used the medium to rally supports and votes for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi and all candidates of the party ahead of the forthcoming main elections in 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, reiterating that all candidates of the party possessed the needed capacity and requisite qualifications to effect effective leaderships and responsive representation at every levels of democractic governance.

“Vote for all the Labour Party candidates, and then you will be sure that injustice will be over and justice will prevail for everyone and everywhere”,the Orlu-born politican solicited.
