Suspected bomb explosion rocks Taraba capital

Jalingo, the Taraba State capital was  on Sunday thrown into confusion after an explosive device suspected to be a bomb exploded in the State capital.
The incident which happened around 9:35pm near the First Roundabout leading to the Taraba State University, damaged some shops and residential buildings.
The bomb was allegedly planted behind a drinking joint, witnesses said.
An eyewitness told Channels TV, “A little baby of about four years was at the shop sleeping when the wall collapsed,” said a local who does not want to be named. “Luckily, she survived it and is receiving medical attention at a hospital.”
Although no life was lost to the incident, the police have cordoned off the area to avert another blast just in case another device was planted nearby.
The police is yet to react to the incident, leaving many in fear as they do not know what led to the explosion.
