The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has asked its workers in the Power sector to commence an indefinite strike over a disagreement with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
The industrial action is expected to commence on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
If there is no immediate intervention, then the development will further worsen the nation’s electricity supply.
The General Secretary of NUEE, Joe Ajaero, disclosed this in a circular issued on Monday, which was titled “Call for Action”, to Senior Assistant General Secretaries and Zonal Organising Secretaries.
As a prelude to the strike, NUEE in the circular noted that the aggrieved workers are scheduled to picket the Abuja national headquarters of TCN Tuesday.
