In continuation of demolition of illegal structure exercise, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello has ordered the demolition of alleged illegal corner shops in Utako.
Comrade Ikharo Attah, Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to FCT Minister, said the Minister is not happy with the sad development of illegal buildings in the FCT.
He said the residents had taken for granted the administration’s decision to use stakeholders engagement and respect for human rights in dealing with developmental issues before any enforcement.
The Nation reports that Bello lamented the activities by some persons that were gradually turning the Utako area into a security risk.
Traders were seen making efforts to salvage their properties while the bulldozers pull down the structures on Monday.
