A frustrated husband reportedly set his own house ablaze in Ilorin due to alleged frustration by his wife.
The unidentified man who resides at Lekki Face One Eyenkorin Area in Ilorin Kwara State, deliberately set his own house on fire on Sunday, according to the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle in Ilorin.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning at about 10:28hrs.
Adekunle, confirmed the development and disclosed that one Mr Kola leaving in the neighbourhood was the one who quickly summoned the fire brigade service to the incident.
The Kwara State Fire Service brought the ravaging fire under control on time and also prevented it from spreading to other buildings.
According to the spokesman, “the man said he deliberately sprayed his own three-bedroom flat with petrol and then set it on fire due to his wife’s high frustration.”
The Director of State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, has urged the general public to be more vigilant in their homes or offices.
