Benue govt makes clarifications on accident involving Ortom’s convoy

The Benue State Government has denied that governor Samuel Ortom was involved in an accident near Abuja.

A statement signed by Terver Akase,
Special Adviser, Media & Publicity to the governor clarified that Ortom had already departed for the United Kingdom when the accident happened.

He said that the convoy was returning from the Abuja airport when one of the security vehicles collided with a gulf car

The statement appreciated Nigerians who were worried and had put several calls across to the governor.

The statement said Governor Ortom is already in the United Kingdom.

AFRIPOST gathered that no life was lost in the accident.

It reads: “We have received numerous calls from concerned Nigerians regarding the accident which occurred today near Karu Flyover in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory.

“The Governor’s convoy was on the way from Abuja to Makurdi after accompanying him to the airport for his trip to United Kingdom when a golf car collided with one of the security vehicles.

“We thank God that no life was lost in the incident.

“Governor Ortom who has already arrived safely in the UK, deeply appreciates all the calls and concerns from Benue people and other Nigerians.”
