The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu has said that he would have been upset with the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan for contesting with him but he can now go ahead to lick his wound.
Tinubu, while making his acceptance speech after he emerged as the candidate of the APC also thanked Lawan for his contribution to national development.
He also faulted the media for almost ending APC due to their publications.
He said, “It appears some weeks back that some papers were ready to write the obituary of this party. We put ourselves as a cat with nine lives to be a master builder and we did it.
“Shame on those already building the coffin of APC. Shame on them.
“The cat that lies down quietly is not pretentious of death but to devour his enemy.
“We will tell Poverty Development Party, PDP, that they should step aside. We will repair our country.”
