APC Northern governors have thrown their weight behind a Southern candidate, and have asked northern aspirants to withdraw from the race.
The governors have equally advised President Muhammadu Buhari to consider picking up a southerner who will step into his shoes.
The governors issued a statement to this effect after a meeting on Saturday.
A statement the governors issued on Saturday after a long meeting was signed by the 11 of them. They said withdraw of Northern presidential aspirants from the race would be in national interest.
President Buhari and other APC stakeholders are yet to respond to this request as at press time..
