Abia’s kpeazu sends message to Atiku after emerging PDP presidential candidate

Okezie Ikpeazu, the Governor of Abia State, has congratulated the Wazirin Adamawa and former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 general elections.
He pointed out that the just-concluded Special National Convention of the PDP has sent a clear message that the party is fully prepared to take over power ar the center.
Ikpeazu who spoke in a congratulatory message by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, issued to journalists in Umuahia, on Monday, described the victory of the former Vice President as a vindication of his tenacity, perseverance and personal and personal commitment to the change of the developmental narrative of the country.
The State Governor expressed confidence that with Atiku’s long years of experience in the democratic space, the latter has all it takes to galvanize the entire membership of the party into a formidable force that will win the 2023 presidential elections and usher in another refreshing phase in the leadership of the country.
He saluted all the other aspirants, especially the first runner up, Governor Nyesom Wike, for putting up a Spirited fight which has helped to deepen the democratic process in the party and in the country, stating that the well-organized convention and the conduct of the members during and after the event showed that in terms of democratic ideals, the PDP is miles ahead of the other parties.
Ikpeazu said, “the convention was a family affair of our party. Now that we have a candidate, we must all come together and work towards delivering a victory for our party.
“All of us, in the finest traditions of our party and of democracy, must rally round the candidate and the party leaders to ensure that the party wins the 2023 elections and fulfill the yearnings of our countrymen for real change”.
Governor Ikpeazu however, assured the former Nigerian Vice President of his personal committment and thr cooperation of the entire membership of the PDP in Abia State to the victory of the party in 2023.
AFRIPOST recalls that Atiku, a former Vice President, emerged as the Presidential candidate of the PDP for the 2023 general election on Saturday.
Atiku polled a total of 371 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who garnered 237 votes.
Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, scored 70; Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, scored 38; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, polled 20 votes; Anyim Pius Anyim scored 14, Sam Ohabunwa polled 1 and Olivia Tariela also scored one vote.
