A frontline Journalist, Comrade Iliya Garba has been endorsed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to represent Wushishi Constituency at the Niger State House of Assembly in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
Endorsing the aspirant, the PDP Chairman, Wushishi Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Maigari while presenting Mr. Iliya Garba to the delegates and other party faithfuls at the Local Government Party Secretariat, Wushishi, he called on the delegates to be upright as the Party prepares to hold its primary election on Wednesday, 18th May 2022.
According to him,” the delegates should be sincere in bringing out the best and acceptable candidate that will take the Constituency to the enviable destination at the general election in 2023. And, I assure you that the party under my leadership will continue to carry every member of the party along to ensure the success of the party”.
Comrade Garba a former Niger State Chairman of NUJ in his address told the party faithfuls that he decided to join the race to enable him to contribute in his little way to the upliftment of the Constituency if voted, especially in the areas of youth and women empowerment.
“I will not compromise in improving their wellbeing through equal representation. My aspiration to represent the good people of Wushishi is tied to my love and passion for the progress and development of Wushishi Local Government Area at the legislative chamber of the State”.
“I assure you that I will galvanize my journalistic experience to propel Wushishi Constituency to selfless representation at the House of Assembly. I commend the Party men and women for their loyalty to PDP for the past seven years which spurred my decision to vie under the umbrella of the party,” the aspirant noted.
Speaking, the Wushishi PDP Woman Leader, Habiba Ashiru, assured the aspirant of their unalloyed support, while urging him to prioritize youth and women empowerment if elected.
“In Wushishi LGA we have a number of unemployed youths, hence the need to provide them with opportunities if given the mandate,” she stated.
