Zamfara Assembly sacks deputy governor, Mahdi Gusau

After weeks of allegations and counter-allegations, the Zamfara State House of Assembly has finally impeached the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Mahdi Gusau.

Gusau was impeached during Wednesday’s plenary after the report of the committee set up to look into the issue involving the deputy governor was received and reviewed.

The committee was set up by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu, to investigate the allegations against him.

The state governor, Mohammed Bello Matawalle had been accused severally of being behind the ordeal of his deputy.

Afripost.ng recalls that 18 members of the State Assembly had unanimously resolved to direct the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu, to set up a probe panel to investigate the allegations against Mr Gusau during an extraordinary plenary held on February 10
