Osun APC: Oyetola defeats Aregbesola’s Adeoti to win primaries

Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary which held on Saturday.

Oyetola and Aregbesola have been at loggerheads over the APC primary election in the state. The duo fell out after a change of cabinet did not favour Aregbesola’s men.

Three aspirants contested alongside Oyetola. They included former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff and a former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti. Adeoti is believed to be Aregbesola’s candidate.

Osun APC Primary Election Committee headed by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State, while making the announcement in the early hours of Sunday said, accredited voters were 247,207, while the total votes cast was 235,550.

Oyetola defeated Adeoti with a wide margin of 222,169 votes to 12921, while Lasun polled 460 votes.

Speaking, the chairman of the party in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famodun appreciated the Primary Election Committee for a good outcome of the polls.
