Mr Nwachuckwu Enwonwu the new Oyo State Commissioner of Police has assumed office in Ibadan.
NAN reports that Enwonwu took over from Mr Shina Olukolu who was deployed to the Force Command Investigation Department (FCID) Lagos State.
Speaking shortly after taking over on Monday, Enwonwu urged officers and men of the command to maintain high level of discipline.
“I want you to extend the same cooperation you have shown him to me and try as much as possible to maintain the tempo.
“Once you do that you will be my friend but anything short of that will not be accommodated.
“As you go back to your various commands make sure you maintain high level of discipline because discipline is the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
The new CP admonished them to respect the fundamental Human Right of Nigerians as enshrined in the Constitution.
Enwonwu said that he did not want to receive petition from the public against the police over violation of their fundamental human rights.
