Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West, has berated the Nigeria Police Force for denying knowledge of his abduction.
Gunmen were alleged to have abducted the lawmaker in Gwagwalada area of Abuja yesterday.
Shortly after the incident, Bayelsa Senator, Ben Bruce confirmed the incident, saying Melaye was kidnapped by gunmen.
Reacting to the alleged abduction, the Nigeria Police Force said it did not received any complaint or report on the incident.
The Force said this in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood.
However, Melaye, in his reaction described police response as “appaling.”
Sharing an official statement made by his brother, Moses, Melaye, in a tweet wrote: “One is appalled that police will deny the reportage of my attack by my brother yesterday morning. This is the statement of my brother.”
