U.S President, Donald Trump has, on Tuesday sacked US secretary of state, Rex Tillerson few hours after visiting Nigeria.
Recall that the Tillerson was in Nigeria on Sunday and had a closed-door meeting with the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock on Monday.
Buhari had after his meeting with Tillerson said the Federal Government preferred the option of negotiation to rescue the abducted students.
Trump announced Tillerson’s dismissal and his replacement in a tweet few minutes ago.
He tweeted: ”Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job!
”Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!
