BENUE COUNCIL ELECTIONS: APC Fielded in 23 LGs, PDP in 6 LGs, Others in 3, 1 respectively – BSIEC

Chairman of Benue State Electoral Commission (BSIEC), Dr. John Tsuwa has, on Tuesday, said the commission recognises the Modu Sheriff PDP faction based on the Port Harcourt judgement delivered in favour of Sheriff on February 17, 2017.

Tsuwa disclosed during an interaction with newsmen at the commission’s secretariat in Makurdi that eight political parties have had their candidates successfully validated for the elections, revealing that APC fielded in 23 LGs while PDP fielded in only 6 LGs.

“The commission recognises the Modu Sheriff PDP faction based on the Port Harcourt judgement.

“Eight political parties including APA, PDP, Accord Party, NNPP, Labour Party, SDP, ACD and CPP have had their candidates successfully validated for the election.

“APC has fielded in 23 local governments, PDP in 6, Labour Party in 3 while Accord and others in 1 local government respectively.”

Recall that BSIEC has released time table for local government elections in the state slated for Saturday, 3rd June, 2017.
