Testimonies As JLBC Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Must read

By Yemi Itodo

The auditorium of Jesus Life Bible Church, Central Parish, Nyanya Abuja, was filled to the brim, on Sunday, when the ministry celebrated her 15 years of glorious existence.

Worshippers from within the commission and some invited guests turned out in their large numbers to celebrate the faithfulness and mercies of God which has kept the members across the country.

Taking a text from the book of Lamentations chapter 3 verse 22, the Presiding Pastor in charge of the Northern Region, Pastor Emmanuel Umoru, said it was by the mercies of God that, the founding fathers and members of the church did not give up, when the commission began, 15 years ago.

Umoru, who spoke on the topic “The Enduring Mercies’, said, “If not for God’s enduring mercies, most of us would not be alive today”, adding that, “When a man has thought  that he has arrived, he starts to diminish”, if not for the mercies of God.

He therefore charged the worshippers not to be confined in that present state but to always push for the mark of greater height, as God’s mercies are always available to them.

Members from various parishes within Abuja and environs  took turn to testify to the glorious deeds of God in their lives, since they joined the ministry.

Highlights of the service was the cutting of the anniversary cake and commissioning of a standard borehole which was recently sunk.

Pastor Mrs. Victoria Ekeh of Good Tidings Ministry Abuja, while commissioning the project, tasked members to support the leadership of the church, through financial donations, community watch and good usage culture, to ensure that the best of the water project is eventually achieved.

Jesus Life Bible Church, otherwise known as ‘Potter’s House’ was established on the 5th of May, 2002 when the first Sunday service was held at No 7, Moshood Opere street, Langbasa, in Ajah Lagos, where only 58 attendance was recorded.

On the 11th of August same year, a branch was planted in Abuja with a population of 110 worshippers, where the ministry had to spend just 1 hour 40 minutes to run Sunday services, as other users would be waiting for the premises to be vacated.

The story, however, has changed, as the ministry is now proud of over 1000 members, which branches spread across Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Abuja and Nasarawa, under the supervision of the National Presiding Pastor, Simon Ameh.
