1.The Lagos State zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has recovered close to half a billion naira in an abandoned bureau the change in Lagos State. The anti-graft agency in a video posted on its Facebook page Friday night said they had counted over N400m while the counting is still ongoing as at 8:33pm.

2. A former Boko Haram commander identified as Joseph David has confessed that he married two of the 278 Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped almost three years ago. David who was earlier a Christian, explained that the two girls were part of his benefits for being a commander in the sect. He disclosed he was abducted by Boko Haram from his native Mubi, Adamawa State, when he was 22.

He was explaining why he walked out on Jonathan in their last meeting. He said Jonathan failed to recognize him as the party’s chairman.

7. Suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumini Jibrin, has apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari over his recent comments asking the president to resign. He tendered his apology while addressing his supporters at his residence following special prayer for the President at Kofa Juma’at Mosque, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano state on Friday. He, however, said his comment was misinterpreted.

9. A brothel owner, Olayode Samuel,has been killed by some persons suspected to be prostitutes after dispossessing him of his pension. The attack took place in Odo Owa community in Ijero local government area of Ekiti state. Report says the robbers tied the retired soldier to a steel bed and set him on fire during the attack.

10. In an apparent reaction to El-Rufai’s call to lawmakers to make public their budgetary allocation, salaries and allowances to Nigerians, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has equally challenged Governor Nasir El-Rufai to extend his campaign for transparency in the budget of the National Assembly to other arms of government, including how governors spend their security votes.
