Passenger Jet Splits Into Pieces After Crashing In South Sudan. See Photos

A passenger jet crash-landed at an airport in South Sudan’s north-western city of Wau on Monday, leaving at least 14 people injured, a local official said. As many as 45 people were on board the small South Supreme Airlines plane when it split in two at about 3pm local time.

It was initially feared that dozens of people were dead following the fiery crash, but the manager of South Supreme Airlines said that no one had died.

Gabriel Ngang, the manager of South Supreme Airlines, told The National Courier that there were no casualties, and that everyone on board had been removed from the plane before it caught fire.

Meanwhile, an aid worker near the scene told Reuters: ‘No one died but there are a number of injured people right now.
