Bandits mutilate farmer in Kaduna over refusal to handover crops

Must read

A farmer in Kaduna State has suffered a brutal attack after refusing to surrender his harvest to armed bandits.

Abdulkarim, working on his farm in Kubau Local Government Area, had his hand amputated during the assault, leaving him in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses said the attack occurred on Friday evening when the bandits confronted Abdulkarim on his dry-season farm.

“He stood his ground, and they responded with extreme violence,” a local source revealed.

Meanwhile, security analyst Bakatsine has highlighted the growing risks faced by farmers in the region.

“This is a stark reminder of how insecurity is threatening livelihoods in rural Kaduna,” he said in a post on X.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not released any statement regarding the incident, and the community is calling for urgent intervention to protect farmers from similar attacks.

Residents fear that ongoing violence could disrupt agricultural production in the area.

“Farmers are paying the heaviest price for insecurity in their fields,” Bakatsine added, emphasising the need for stronger protection measures.
