The University of Abuja has called on members of the public to assist in locating a missing 100-level Accounting student, Sadiya Usman.
Sadiya was last seen leaving her residence in Gwagwalada, Abuja, on Tuesday morning.
Usman, who resides at Kontagora Estate, Gwagwalada, reportedly left home around 8:00 a.m. on February 18, 2026, heading to the university’s Main Campus to sit a Computer-Based Test in GST 111 but never arrived.
The university disclosed this in an official statement, signed by its Acting Director of Information and University Relations, Dr Habib Yakoob, who confirmed that the student has not been seen since her departure and that all attempts to reach her through her mobile phone have proved futile.
“Her phone line remains unreachable and her whereabouts are currently unknown,” the statement read, adding that her guardian had formally reported the matter after exhausting personal efforts to trace her.
The institution said it had since activated internal safety protocols and was collaborating with relevant security authorities to accelerate the search.
“The university community is deeply concerned about her safety,” the statement noted, urging anyone with useful information to contact the nearest police station or report directly to the university’s Directorate of Safety.
The management reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and security of all students and pledged to issue further updates as the situation develops.
