BREAKING: Elon Musk’s X down in Nigeria, several countries

Must read

Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, suffered a major service disruption on Monday, leaving tens of thousands of users unable to access the site through both its mobile app and desktop interface.

The outage, which began early in the day, caused the platform to freeze on the X logo for many users, while others who managed to load their feeds were greeted with an error message reading, “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”

As of reporting, X had not released any official statement explaining the cause or when services would be restored.

Data from the monitoring service Downdetector indicated a sharp spike in complaints, confirming that the disruption was widespread.

Users in Nigeria, Canada, Australia, France, Indonesia, Ghana, and Germany reported difficulties accessing core features, including posting updates and refreshing timelines.

Monday’s incident is the latest technical setback for X.

In November 2025, the platform, alongside internet infrastructure firm Cloudflare, experienced a similar outage affecting multiple countries, including the United States, India, and Nigeria.

Despite recurring disruptions, X remains one of the world’s most popular social media networks, though the latest downtime has raised fresh concerns for users who rely on it for news, business, and real-time communication.
