South African police have arrested a woman in connection with the killing of a 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, who was murdered earlier this month in Pretoria West.

The Gauteng Police Command confirmed the arrest after investigations into what authorities described as a violent hijacking incident involving the Bolt driver while he was on duty.

The killing has triggered widespread reactions among Nigerians both in the country and abroad, with calls for justice following reports surrounding the incident.

According to South African online publication IOL, the attack occurred on February 11, 2026, after the driver reportedly picked up passengers who had requested a ride through an e-hailing platform.

Preliminary findings indicated that the victim was allegedly attacked inside his vehicle by a male and female duo who subsequently hijacked the car during the trip.

Police later recovered Satlat’s body alongside the stolen vehicle in Atteridgeville on the same day of the incident.

Authorities also raised concern over a disturbing video circulating online showing a person being assaulted behind the steering wheel, warning members of the public against sharing the footage.

The police said the female suspect would appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on February 16, 2026, to face charges of murder and hijacking, while a manhunt has been launched for another suspect still at large.
