Popular Nollywood actress, Biola Adebayo has shared her personal struggles as an orphan and single mother, saying her experiences have shaped how she handles public criticism.
The 44-year-old Nollywood star, who made the revelation in an Instagram post, reflected on the challenges she has faced and how they have influenced her outlook on life and relationships.
She said criticism from the public does not always reflect the realities people are dealing with privately.
She wrote, “I am an orphan and a single mother. I have been through a lot. People don’t know what others are going through before they judge.”
She also addressed the emotional weight of raising a child alone while dealing with public scrutiny, noting that her journey has required strength and faith. She added, “When you have gone through certain things in life, you learn to ignore some things and focus on what really matters.”
According to the actress, her experiences have made her more empathetic towards others, urging people to be kinder in their interactions and avoid making assumptions about people’s lives based on what they see online.
Biola, a Yoruba film actress and producer, welcomed her first child in 2023 through surrogacy after several unsuccessful attempts to conceive. Her marriage to Oluwaseyi Akinrinde later ended, with the actress confirming in 2025 that they had separated and were co-parenting their son.
Her mother died in February 2025.
