Must read

Five individuals, including one man and four women, were abducted from a residence in Unguwan Nasarawa, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, early Tuesday morning.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing bursts of gunfire around 2:30 a.m. in the Mansur neighborhood, signaling the attack.

Residents described the assailants as heavily armed and swift in executing the raid.

The victims have been identified as Usman Musa, Maryam Musa, and three other women from the same household.

According to local sources, the attackers forcibly entered the home of Alti Alh. Musa before fleeing toward an unknown location.

In response, a coordinated team comprising the Nigerian Army, the Operation Restore Peace (ORP), the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, officers from the Bauchi Metropolitan Area Command, and local professional hunters immediately launched a search-and-rescue operation.

“Efforts are ongoing to locate the abducted individuals and apprehend the perpetrators,” a security official said.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area.

AFRIPOST reports that the incident has heightened concerns over rising kidnapping cases in Bauchi State, prompting calls for increased security measures in vulnerable communities.
