The Mogaji of Ile Akoto in Labiran area of Ibadan, Chief Jelili Adepoju has declared that the family has no information about a disputed land in Elebu area of Ibadan.
Adepoju made this declaration via a press statement made available to journalists on Wednesday.
Recall that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja has handed over a suspect to the Department of State Service (DSS) over a disputed land at Elebu area of Ibadan.
The traditional ruler made this declaration via a statement signed by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, and made available to journalists Wednesday morning.
It was learnt that some people who claimed to be members of Akoto and Ojofeitimi families are in dispute over the parcel of land. This prompted the Olubadan to wade in and hand over a suspected land grabber to the DSS on Tuesday.
But, the Mogaji of Ile Akoto at Labiran area, Chief Jelili Adepoju while reacting noted that his family is not in contention with any family over a land.
He noted that the Akoto which they are referring to is not the Akoto in Labiran area of Ibadan.
He added that he will continue to work in line with the provisions and dictates of the Olubadan and his council.
Adepoju said, “My name is Alhaji Jelili Adepoju, Mogaji Ile Akoto in Labiran area of Ibadan. I was surprised when I saw the news.
“What they are saying is not for us. Our own Akoto is at Labiran area of Ibadan. Our family is not in contention with any family over any land. We are not land grabbers.
“The one they are referring to is at Isale Osi, Idi Arere, it is not our own Akoto. I want the members of the public to know this. My family is a peace-loving family. We are not in dispute with any family over any land”.
