Police authorities in Adamawa State have nabbed three individuals linked to a high-profile abduction case, including the victim’s own flesh and blood.
The breakthrough highlights ongoing battles against rising crime in the region.
Law enforcement teamed up with local vigilantes from the Miyetti Allah organisation for a daring raid on a remote den in Jera village, part of Fufore’s Malabu district.
This move came hot on the heels of Alhaji Ahmadu’s disappearance on January 30, 2026, sparking immediate action from top brass.
Spokesperson for the police, Nguroje, described the sting as a “calculated strike fueled by sharp intelligence,” aimed at dismantling networks of terror plaguing communities. He emphasised how such partnerships are key to restoring peace.
The captured trio includes 45-year-old Lawali Haruna, 25-year-old Yahaya Ibrahim, and 28-year-old Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu, all locals from Jera. Shockingly, Da’u is revealed as the abducted man’s biological son, adding a layer of personal treachery to the crime.
Under questioning, the suspects admitted their roles in the plot, according to officials.
“We never imagined family ties could lead to such darkness,” a police insider remarked, underscoring the emotional toll of the case.
Rescue teams are racing against time to free Alhaji Ahmadu safely, while hunts continue for additional gang members. Authorities vow no stone will be left unturned in this pursuit.
Police Commissioner Dankombo Morris praised the joint efforts, stating, “This collaboration proves we’re stronger together in safeguarding our people.”
He renewed pledges to protect citizens amid growing security concerns.
Residents are encouraged to share tips with security forces to aid ongoing probes. “Your vigilance could save lives,” Morris urged in a public appeal.
Stay tuned for developments as the investigation unfolds in Adamawa’s fight against kidnapping syndicates.
