JUST IN: Bauchi Gov removes internal security commissioner

Must read

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sacked the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima.

The removal was disclosed in a statement issued in the early hours of Monday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.

Gidado said the decision followed the governor’s approval of a minor reshuffle of the State Executive Council, with Galadima relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

According to the statement, the cabinet review was part of the administration’s efforts to periodically assess performance, inject fresh ideas into governance and strengthen service delivery across the state.

The media aide noted that the move was also aimed at repositioning the executive arm for the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

Governor Mohammed, the statement added, commended Galadima for his service to the state and wished him success in his future endeavours.

He further assured residents of Bauchi State of his administration’s unwavering commitment to peace, security and good governance, while noting that a replacement for the sacked commissioner would be announced in due course.
