Armed bandits have abducted four members of the same family during a late-night raid on a residential home in Kaduna State, triggering an extensive security operation across the area.
The victims were taken after gunmen stormed the house of Abdulgafar Abdulrazak, a resident of Danhono 2 village in Millennium City, security-linked sources confirmed.
Those abducted include Abdulrazak, his wife, Nafisa, his 13-year-old daughter, Ummu Salma, and his 10-year-old sister, Maryam, highlighting the continued targeting of vulnerable civilians in rural communities.
According to the sources, the attack occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday when the assailants arrived in numbers and forced their way into the compound before escaping with the victims.
Moreover, following a distress alert, the Divisional Police Officer immediately activated a coordinated response involving multiple security formations.
Troops from the Nigerian Army Strike Force, alongside Special Police Unit armoured patrol teams and local vigilante operatives, were deployed to pursue the kidnappers and secure the surrounding areas.
Furthermore, nearby bushes and possible escape routes were cordoned off, while adjoining police divisions and community security groups were placed on high alert to prevent the suspects from moving freely.
A senior security source said the rescue mission remained active, noting that “every available resource has been mobilised to ensure the victims are recovered safely and those responsible are brought to justice.”
Meanwhile, residents of Danhono 2 village expressed growing anxiety over repeated security breaches, urging authorities to sustain pressure on criminal networks operating around Millennium City and its outskirts.
