Kwankwasiyya lauds appointees’ resignations from Kano govt, hails loyalty to Kwankwaso

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has praised former political appointees and elected officials who resigned their positions in Kano State, describing their actions as a show of courage, loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the movement and its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habibu Sale Mohammed, Ph.D, on Sunday.

The movement said the resignations, which cut across former commissioners, special advisers, special assistants, managing directors, executive secretaries and other appointees, reflected integrity and selfless service, noting that those affected willingly relinquished the benefits and privileges of office in defence of principle.

It added that Kwankwaso had earlier advised those who resigned to reconsider their decisions, stressing that the appeal was borne out of appreciation for their roles in governance and institution-building, and not a sign of weakness.

According to the statement, the former presidential candidate believes governance should not be driven by vendetta or intimidation but anchored on service to the people, although the resigning appointees maintained that their convictions were at odds with the direction of the Gandujiyya-led Kano State Government.

The movement also applauded the Deputy Governor and elected officials, including a senator, members of the House of Representatives, Kano State House of Assembly and councillors, for remaining loyal to their mandate despite what it described as inducements and sustained pressure from state and federal authorities.

It further recognised members who resigned from local government councils, including council secretaries, supervisory councillors, special advisers and personal assistants, saying their actions demonstrated grassroots commitment to justice, fairness and the founding values of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

Reaffirming its philosophy, the group stated that Kwankwasiyya was built on sacrifice, service and the pursuit of good governance and social justice, and not on positions or privileges, adding that history would vindicate those who stood firm.

The movement urged those still in office on special assignment or transitional grounds to remain professional and restrained, while assuring supporters that it remained united and focused, insisting that no form of pressure or intimidation could weaken a movement rooted in the will of the people.
