Must read

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained a man suspected of sexually assaulting five children in separate incidents across the state.

The suspect, identified as Hussaini Shuaibu, also known as “Abati,” was apprehended after security operatives acted on intelligence reports and complaints from worried residents.

SC Jerry Victor, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, explained that the offences allegedly occurred at different times and locations, highlighting a disturbing pattern of targeting vulnerable minors.

State Commandant Brah Samson Umoru condemned the crimes, describing them as “abhorrent and a blatant violation of children’s rights.”

He emphasised that the NSCDC is determined to protect minors and hold perpetrators accountable.

“The suspect remains in our custody. He will face a thorough investigation and prosecution under the law,” Umoru said, stressing that justice will be served and that such acts will not go unpunished.

The Commandant also appealed to parents, guardians, and community leaders to remain alert and report suspicious behaviour.

Victims are encouraged to come forward, with assurances of confidentiality and full support.

The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to public safety, urging citizens to collaborate with security agencies in safeguarding lives and property across Nasarawa State.
