Preliminary findings at the scene showed that the boy had been missing since Thursday evening, with his parents suspecting he may have fallen into a well within the community.

The remains were subsequently handed over to the ward head of Wangara village for burial in line with local customs.

The fire service commiserated with the bereaved family and advised residents to properly cover open wells and take precautions around hazardous areas to prevent similar incidents, especially involving children.
