Jigawa allocates N2.6bn for 2026 Hajj pilgrimage

Jigawa State has earmarked N2.6 billion to support the 2026 Hajj, aiming to guarantee safe and seamless travel for its pilgrims.

The announcement came from Commissioner for Information, Sagir Musa, who briefed journalists on the outcomes of Wednesday’s State Executive Council meeting in Dutse.

Musa explained that the funding would cover essential aspects of the pilgrimage, including air travel, accommodation, meals, medical support, and orientation programs.

“This allocation ensures that pilgrims from Jigawa can undertake their spiritual journey with comfort and dignity,” he said.

The commissioner emphasised that all activities would strictly follow the guidelines set by Saudi authorities, highlighting the government’s focus on transparency and accountability in managing the funds.

Furthermore, Musa revealed that the government has instructed relevant agencies to collaborate closely, ensuring pilgrims can fulfil their religious obligations without unnecessary challenges or delays.

The approval marks a continuation of Jigawa’s commitment to providing robust support for its citizens undertaking the sacred Hajj pilgrimage, reinforcing both safety and convenience.
