An electrician identified simply as Tunde has died after he was electrocuted in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident occurred at about 3pm on Sunday near a power pole close to the police station in the community.
A source said the electrician was carrying out work on the pole when he was suddenly electrocuted.
The source said the victim lost balance after the shock and fell from the pole.
He was described as a well-known and friendly figure in the area, although the exact nature of the work he was doing could not be confirmed.
The incident reportedly caused panic among residents of the community.
