In a shocking early morning raid, unidentified assailants abducted three daughters of the Plateau State Water Board Managing Director, Engr. Apollos Samchi, leaving the community in Jos South Local Government Area on edge.
Security sources said the attack unfolded around 12:53 a.m. on Monday, when gunshots rang out near the Rantya neighbourhood, prompting an emergency call.
“Upon reaching the residence at Dumac Suites, officers found that armed intruders had forced entry and kidnapped Engr. Samchi’s daughters, Nanlop, Kyenret, and Favour Samchi,” a security official told our correspondent.
During the ordeal, the family’s security guard, Benard Makjwan, sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach.
He was immediately transported to Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos and is currently receiving medical attention.
Authorities confirmed that investigations have begun, with joint operations involving the military and other security agencies underway to track the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the three girls.
Residents of the area have expressed alarm, with local leaders calling for heightened security measures to prevent a recurrence of such violent attacks.
“We urge the authorities to act swiftly. No family should face this level of terror in their homes,” said one community representative.
