Zamfara State has raised monthly stipends for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, offering N150,000 to medical corps members and N50,000 to other health professionals, signalling a renewed commitment to youth welfare.
Governor Dauda Lawal announced the decision at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch A, Stream I corps members deployed to the state.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi, Lawal emphasised that all corps members will enjoy a supportive and productive working environment throughout their one-year service.
Corps members assigned to other ministries, departments, and agencies will receive N20,000 monthly, according to a statement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development’s Information Officer, Suleiman Aliyu-Gusau.
On security, the governor acknowledged challenges in some areas but reassured corps members that ongoing collaborations with security agencies, community leaders, and vigilante groups have already improved safety in several communities.
