The palace of the Arujale-Ojime of Okeluse Kingdom in Ondo State has directed residents and visitors to stop addressing the young monarch with informal titles.
In a statement released on Friday, Prince Adefemi Olorunfemi, the king’s Chief of Staff, said the 22-year-old ruler must be referred to as “His Royal Majesty” at all times.
He noted that some people had been using casual terms such as “bro” and “blood” when speaking to the king, describing the practice as disrespectful and unacceptable.
The palace added that the monarch’s age should not be used as a reason to undermine the dignity of the throne, insisting that traditional authority must be respected.
It also warned that anyone who continues to ignore the directive would face consequences, stressing that the king’s calm nature should not be mistaken for weakness.
Residents were urged to uphold Yoruba cultural values and ensure that the palace is treated with dignity.
Oba Oloyede Adekoya Akinghare II became king at 16 after the death of his father, and his ascension was later approved by the state government.
