Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday signed the ₦4.4 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law.
The signing ceremony was held at the Conference Room of Lagos House, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
The Lagos State House of Assembly had earlier passed the budget, christened the “Budget of Shared Prosperity,” in January.
The lawmakers approved a bill authorising the spending of ₦4,444,509,776,438 for the 2026 fiscal year.
Dignitaries at the event included the Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, members of the State Executive Council, the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, lawmakers and other top government officials.
The governor had, while presenting the budget proposal to the Assembly in November 2025, said the fiscal plan was aimed at promoting inclusive growth and improving the welfare of residents.
Sanwo-Olu stated that the budget was designed to reduce poverty and deliver a Lagos that works for everyone.
He explained that the spending plan is built around four key pillars—people-focused development, modern infrastructure, economic growth and efficient governance.
According to him, the pillars are in line with the state’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, which seeks to entrench shared prosperity across Lagos.
