Nigerian deported after reporting lost wallet in Europe

Must read

A fresh wave of reactions has followed a viral video on X, formerly Twitter, which claims that a Nigerian man was deported after handing over a lost wallet to authorities in a European country.

The video, shared by an X user identified as Somto Okonkwo and sighted by AFRIPOST, featured a man narrating how the Nigerian reportedly came across a wallet containing identity cards and about €4,500.

According to the narration, the man went to a police station to submit the wallet, explaining that he found it on the ground and did not know who it belonged to.

The narrator said officers initially welcomed the gesture and began recording the incident before requesting the man’s personal details and documentation.

It was alleged that the situation took a different turn when officials realised the Nigerian did not have valid residency papers, leading to his detention.

The video further claimed that the man was processed for removal and flown back to Nigeria shortly after his arrest.

In the clip, the narrator described the development as unfortunate, cautioning undocumented migrants about the risks of coming into contact with authorities.
