Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known for her hit song “Omije Oju mi” has passed away.
The news of her passing broke on the early hours of Wednesday, January 14, 2026, leaving her fans and colleagues in the gospel music industry in deep shock.

The singer had been battling a serious health issue involving her leg for a long time. In late 2025, a video went viral showing her at a prayer ground crying and asking for prayers over the leg ailment. Despite efforts to get her medical and spiritual help, she sadly lost the battle at the age of 46.
